Exclamation Proper training gloves...

My son and I are a 210 and 195 respectively and approximately the same height (5' 9").

We have been using cheap old punching gloves (they came with the set) to beat on our bags in the basement.

We are looking to upgrade (we can share a pair).

He is studying to fight in the MMA. Me, I am looking to always get into fights - lol.

The gloves we have are pretty tattered and have no wrist support. We are looking to get a good set of MMA training gloves. Cost IS in issue.

Any suggestions?

Thanks all.

I perfer Fairtex. I also like the 18oz over 16oz. the gloves wont protect your wrist like a pair of hand wraps will. I like fairtex hand wraps also. You can google the products I posted and find some pretty good prices

Fairtex - Cotton Handwraps

Fairtex - Training Gloves 16 oz

Rocket has it spot on, Fairtex is one of the top brands IMO.

I also use wraps underneath my gloves and tape my wrists for the heavy bag and 16'z.

i use mexican style hand wraps and windy bag gloves. i get the gloves 1 size bigger so i can fit in the wraps. much better hand stability with the wraps and easier than tape. Windy Muay Thai Bag Gloves

If you can afford them get winning gloves

Those are the only gloves that you can really feel make a difference when you wear them. Outside of that i think everything is on the same field as long as u dont use reyes gloves.

No problem what kind did he get? If he comes back make sure he gets "bag gloves" and not boxing or sparring gloves.
