Question Biomechanics...huh!

How much do my individual biomechanics limit me? If so how can I correct it?

Let me paint you a picture I'm 5'10'' at 205 lbs so I can hardly be called a hardgainer. I'm not that tall but I do have longer limbs than the average 5'10'' guy.

Here's the issue...I really suck at flat bench but put me on an incline bench and I really fly. My theory is that it has to do with the shorter range of motion.

I'm really good with the military press but battle to do dumbell press.

I've squated 374 lbs for 6 reps once in my life (I know I should be doing much better on this exercise.) Yet I can deadlift 709 lbs. My mate that weighs 253 lbs can't even match me on deadlift.

So I'd like to know if my theory is flawed and whether I should drop certain exercises and substitute them with others to suit my individual structure.

Would luv to hear from the pros in the forum...I really value your opinion & insight.

Much love & respect.
