Need Help
Need some advise.. My 22 yr old was involved in a fight friday nite over a guy slapping his girlfriend's butt... 3 on 1.. Lots of verbal judo and then guy gets in my Son's face talking shit in front of his buddies, lifts his hands like he was gonna throw a punch.. Son gets off first lick and knocks guy down.... leaves the area with friend who showed up and girlfriend..
He gets a call tday from Police about incident.. said he broke guys jaw.. and needs to come to station to discuss... 1. Should he admit the punch? It was bascially in Self-defense... The guy does have 2 or more witnesses.. Son has Girlfriend and friend... to back up story... I told him they will or could arrest him at the station... and file both crinimal charges and he could be sued in civil court for damages.. Any Advise appreciated....

I would go with what Lifts says.
I would also ask Sandow74 here. Maybe he could give you some assistance as he is involved in the legal aspect of things and is here to help the community here with anything to due with the law. Maybe PM him or post this in the Legal Corner forum. Last edited by forsberg21; 11-05-2009 at 09:25 PM.

Ok this happened to me when I was 18 years old back in 2000.
I went to the station and they did arrest me. I spent the day there answering questions. I did end up getting assault charge and sued for almost $ 15,000. My biggest advise is to get a lawyer and don't talk until you have one. If they sue, you counter sue. I did not counter sue and didn't know I could until it was to late. If I would of it's a good chance they would of dropped charges and law suit. Any other questions feel free to message me.

Thanks Bro's for the info... Speaking with Lawyer in Morn.... Plus GF has agreed to file sexual assualt charges against guy who grabbed ass.. which started whole thing... Never thought of the counter sue thing... Good point..
