Protein without stomach issues

Anyone have any suggestions for a protein that doesn't cause gastrointestinal distress?

I've been using BSN syntha 6 and ON and just dealing with it for years but lately I can't take it anymore.

It is causing issues with my later meals because my guts feel so bad I don't want to eat.

i was dealing with gas and bloat from protein... i have always used probiotics and fermented superfood to try support healthy bacteria...but still had issues.

i have began taken protein digestive enzymes and gas x... nothing short of amazing... really helped me

I've noticed that same feeling and effect, doesn't seem to be related to a single brand for me, I've been doing more egg whites

the vast majority of protein supplements are dairy based. after a certain amount in a day even people that are not lactose intolerant use up their ability to digest these products easily. if you ignore the lactose you can have trouble digesting that much protein in one day.

I used milk digestant enzyme like lactaid and it helped a little. Gas X will help with gas pain only. Beano or Ginger root might help.

like A1 said, perhaps egg whites might eliminate your problem. even if it is only part of your supplementation. like every other day or take less whey by substituting egg whites for at least half of it.

I like True Nutrition's Whey Isolate and have no issues. That said, if I take 100 grams of it, I'm gonna have more distress than half the amount....goes with the territory. The longer the protein sits in the GI tract, bacteria has a longer time to feed off of it and produce gas.

The Whey Isolate is filtered to get most of the fats and lactose out of it. Lactose is usually the culprit in gastrointestinal problem as some are lactose intolerant. So we end up with very little fat (0.5-1.0%), and very little lactose (0.5-1.0%).

I had to go to all plant based protein powders. Any type of whey kills me.

try casein and or egg whites. a lot of vegetable proteins contain soy. so look for a brand that advertises no soy and complete amino acid profile for complete protein. there are still pure soy protein products that don't have complete protein and are terrible for men due to phyto-estrogens. one guys solution was to eat more meat. he had a bowl of grilled meet that he ate all the time. kinda tough to keep that up.

The two I use are Veggie Elite performance protein by MRM and Vegan Freak's hybrid plant based protein. Both taste good with no soy.
