I bought mine years ago. I have the full size, compact double stack and the shield. The full size i upgraded to an apex trigger, creacoted the slide and added an integrated crimson trace combat light. It is a really great pistol.

Dakota i have had makarovs before. they are really reliable but heavy and 9mm Mak is hard to find and even harder to find hollow points.

they are a neat pistol to shoot. Also like the tokarevs. 7.62x25 thise are cheap but damn that ammo is EVEN harder to get (good stuff)

I have looked at canik. It is made in turkey (as is the Sar BP6 I reccomended) same factory? i do not know.

but turkey makes REALLY good firearms.

I've put probably 5k rounds through my shield in 3 years and never had a single issue with the gun. The only misfires I had were from NATO proofing rounds that were 33% over sami pressure rating (but that's another story).

Bottom line, the sw m&p line are undeniably great bang for the buck.

Regarding full size, I'd take the canik before the m&p 2.0, I just like the way it felt in my hand and naturally sited for me. Nice trigger pull and reset. Honestly just a damn good well priced gun that are built to last.
I already have one. I love the shield but he is wanted double stack mags I think.

BLM. Is Canik made my Century Arms or is Canik just being endorsed by Century Arms? I have never had any problems with Century Arms.

I think CA is their primary importer. I never really did much homework on it.

I have an even smaller kel tek P3AT .380. Had the PF-9 but sold it as it was a snappy ....er. Kel tek is underrated as a cheapo gun maker but they all have lifetime warranties and as long as my P3AT is not dry it is reliable. So take it apart once a month, clean and oil it (Lint is my biggest prob from my pocket holster) and I leave it pretty wet inside. Once I left it too wet and ended up with an oil stain at the bottom of my pocket that shown through.

I looked at the P3AT but already had a 9mm and a ton of ammo on hand. Got a great deal on my P-11 that my local guy said there was no way he could match, less than 2 bills out the door, so I ordered a blued model and was given a Parkerized. Fits nicely in my front pocket, and I do worry about the lint buildup too.

Mine is in a pocket holster, I would not have a pistol just in my pocket but it is open at the barrel and that is where it gets most of the lint. If I do not keep the P3AT WELL oiled it will FTF on every 3-4 shot.
