Medical and Physical Therapy questions A place to talk about current and or past injuries and possibly how to deal with those injuries. Any advice should not be considered as medical advice, but rather from one person to another as you might ask a friend.

In general, do nothing behind your head (actually no one really should) and any presses do with a bent arm towards your body, not out at 90 degrees, It is called the angle of scaption. Do not use a barbell. A barbell locks you into a specific ROM.

I had AC joint compression and impingement with a slight labrum tear. I spent a year in physical therapy trying to rehab it and really was just going more damage. Bone on bone contact caused a bunch of microfractures. I had surgery two weeks ago where they shaved the bone and created some AC joint space. Three days after the swelling subsided I feel zero pain. I had my first physical therapy appointment yesterday and the range of motion has returned to about 95% pre injury. My range of motion was limited to around 80% pre surgery.
