A set for me at the gym is 4 to 5 exercises without stopping. I don't use heavy weights so I rely on a combination of strength and stamina. The harder I beat myself down the better I feel about it. I wouldn't compare myself to GF, I've looked at his log but I have to reduce sets and weight a few weeks into it.

There will be no running for me until I get this hip replaced.

Did you ever add exogenous ketones? and MCT oil?

I did those and a mineral supp for keto and I felt supercharged when I did cardio. My fast twitch was a little slower but I could go forever it felt like. and when done I felt fine.

Lots of MCT oil. I tried exogenous ketones for a couple weeks and did not see a difference. This may have been my fault. One thing I often forget is that muscle mass makes a huge difference in the amount of supplementation that is required. When I was doing keto and running all the time I was around 205-215 lbs at 10-11% bodyfat. If you run 7 miles at 215 lbs you are going to use a ton of energy. A lot more than someone who is 150 lbs over the same distance. I probably was not taking in enough.

This is also the Ozarks, which you cannot find a piece of flat ground longer than a football field. If you run 7 miles here you are also going to go through several 100-300 ft elevation changes along your route. Those damn hills crush you on keto, especially when you have a 300 ft climb to finish your run.

Have you guys tried carnivore or extended fasting?

When I break Keto this is how i get back into keto in less then 24 hours lol

I don't eat & I don't drink water, by the next day I am at .5 on the keto mojo

Carnivore feels good to me but it's too hard to adhere for long stretches.

Believe it or not you get tired of eating just steak.


When I am being super strict I only eat beef steak, beef liver, tallow & himalayan sea salt & it's basically keto on steroids.

Triple D, I do not think I could do it. Keto I can fill up on low carb veggies and such. carnivore seems like a bear to me.
