Abs! I apparently have some!
My downfall has never been training....it's been diet. I really don't have any excuses, other than while I have the discipline to get to the gym for about 90 minutes every single day, I don't have the discipline to cook a healthy diet for myself every single day and I have some dietary weaknesses (spicy Korean fried chicken anyone?).
So a little over 2 weeks ago I signed up for a meal prep service that caters to lifters. It's not cheap, 21 meals for $250 or so, but the quality is high. I wish it were divided up into more meals in smaller portions, but hey, choices are limited. Meal choices change every week with a wide variety, fresh, not frozen. All very tasty. For that price each meal has 8 oz. of protein. I gotta stress I was never fat, but never exactly shredded either. Well I'll be darned! After only a couple of weeks I can visibly see a difference in fat levels, and my abs are starting to show! Very motivating! I would still like to dial it in a bit more into a true bodybuilding diet, so if anyone can recommend any So Cal meal prep services for that, please let me know! I've searched and searched, but come up with nothing. Current guy is local to me, very fresh, no delivery charge because I am so close. It will be interesting to see how far this goes. So far I'm happy. Not gonna enter any contests, but would like to be a little bit leaner, but not old man freaky looking lean. I plan to stick with it for awhile. |

Diet crushes most people, me included.
My problem is that I am not willing to sacrifice strength and you can tell me until you are blue in the face that you can follow a strict diet to lose fat and not lose strength and I will call you a liar until I am blue in the face. Due to this I am destined to be a little fat.

I like beer. I can see my top abs but have not seen the lower abs in 10-15 years.
If you have a little time, meal prep at home or my watered down version is cheap. Grill a bunch of chicken. Cook veggies. Lunch time put a piece of chicken and veggies on a plate and microwave. Yeah variety and individual containers with pre-portioned meals are better but damn I am cheap. Keep it up brother. Get them abs for summer.

I have some blood work/hematologist stuff/minor surgery which will keep me out of the gym for a week to get past, then I will start some supplements and hopefully put on some quality lean size. |
