OK My Battle to Drop Weight

SO I sit around 171, and am struggling to lose any at all at this time. I seem to only be able to drop water weight . I need to get to 163/164 by July 16th and so far I've failed miserably, I'm about to double my cardio am/pm although I struggle to get up in the mornings plus my daily single or double sessions (lunch then jiu jitsu at night where I teach or train usually both ).

Any ideas, If I have to drop a few in water thats fine, but this damn weight is not coming off me. I"m pretty lean, so there's not a lot to lose .. dammit.

For a while back in my mid 20s I cut from about 180 to 156. That sucked donkey knobs since I was already lean at about 175. i was also natural so no chems at all. At the end of the cut I remember basically just eating tuna and then watching my strength tank the last 5 lbs. I did fight a lot better actually cutting almost all of the weight rather than dehydration the day of the shiai.

That's the thING I don't want to lose my strength. I'm pretty strong and it's a huge asset when competing with guys at the same level as me or better. If I drop 5lbs in water, won't be distilled it'll be good water for this event I hope to be ok. I'm afraid though, I'm gonna go straight tuna and chicken the last 2 weeks to see how low I can get with no meals after 6 I'm struggling to lose what is barely there. Thanks bro

What's your diet set up like.... maybe cut carbs out 3 days then reload???? and repeat...

Stop getting older..............okay just kidding

It does get infinitely harder the older you get, imho, like what worked before ain't working now. IMHO, as you age the body get's much smarter at fighting back any changes, saving energy for just living daily stuff. Thus, and I am doing this right now, more disciplined for longer with an ability to endure that this will happen, just not on the old time clock.

Low carb diet. Wifey and I were on a 40 gram a day low carb diet and, though it sucked, I have managed to drop over 25 lbs. in a little over 3 or 4 months. I have upped my carbs some, honey in my coffee and HAD to re-add beer, I have far too few vices to not enjoy something. Low carb fiberous veggies are losing their appeal to me now.

Whats up, sid my brother. How is your diet set up? You've got 8 to loose in 3 weeks. We've got a numbers game with a fight against adaptive factors to metabolism. How long have you've been stalled out? Is there any time to hydrate after weigh in? What's your current workload/activity level?

I'm going through the same thing now. After my shoulder injury and surgery last summer I quickly lost 10lbs and since I started jiu jitsu I wanted to see if I could drop 10 more and make a lower weight class... I think my new goal in life is to be lean and mean and stop trying bulk up. I've managed to loose 6 of the 10lbs I was shooting for but it's definitely slowing down now. I have vascularity in my abs so I know I don't have much more to give without starting to sacrifice muscle and strength.
