Chia seeds

Anyone else eat these? There's not much flavor so they can be added to just about anything. I put them in my acai bowls and even in salads. Supposedly they have 8 times as much omega 3's as salmon. They contain 2254mgs of omega 3's per serving(1tblspoon)

no, yet, imho, gotta start trying.....

my only issue with almost all diets, is i have this huge need for CRUNCH, without it, i tend not to feel satiated, and wonder off de diet and den, de problems start

Cha cha cha chia

My GF consumes it in her shakes/foods. I have never eatin it now that I think about it, lol. It's a healthy item to consume if you want it in your diet and it matches your macro needs.

I had never heard of them until a few months ago. I was just ordering ingredients of a certain acai bowl I bought at a jiu jitsu tournament. After they showed up I read the package and was surprised by the amount of omega 3's and it says it's one of if not the most nutrient dense foods as long as you believe they're own claims.

It's found in a lot of these healthy rice packs now too....the ones you just pop the bag in the microwave for 90 seconds. I guess I have eaten it now that I think about it. The GF spoons it in her drinks though. We have a big container of just chia seeds, lol. I may start adding some in with my flaxseed.

there is a fundamental difference in the omega 3 fatty acids.

chia contains ALA which is great for you but that does not convert readily to DHA and EPA which are in fish. Don't stop taking fish oil in lieu of chia and ALA. for brain health DHA and EPA are very important and chia is all but a blank there.

BUT! ALA is great for your heart and cardio system. a very healthy fat.

I say get your chia for sure. high in magnesium and really great source of fiber and are prebiotic which means they encourage healthy gut flora.

I love em. add them to my shakes with flax and fish oil.

Good info, thanks bro and yeah I'm definitely still taking my fish oils.
