And there are way too many people my age who are obese and shuffling around, oblivious to the extent that their obesity has negatively affected their health.

45 is just about the time that stuff starts hurting and doesn't go away as quick or perhaps at all. Just need to keep your mind young and push through. I also recommend avoiding fighting and wrestling on the ground solo with someone in their 20's high on hallucinogens if you want to avoid back surgery.

I guess we are in the same Life Boat...

Mentioned before, imho, age 35 you get mystery injuries that pop up and fade in 3-4 days. Agree on 45, about last time squatted with a bar.

I always did Air Squats, no weights-no bar for warm up.

Once I am free to train again, will throw in air squats, 4-5 sets, work reps up to 30 per set. My legs grow easily and not interested in blowing them up, do luv the cuts. IMHO, it is a core exercise, it engages so many muscles from chest on down....you can't let those muscles, any of them fade. Just like push ups, which I can't do due to Thoracic Surgeries on both sides of my neck, yet, did em forever.

Yes, NEVER over my bodyweight which makes me feel like a wuss but I like it when my back does not hurt me furiously 3 days in a row after or longer.

I cannot squat anymore. After I pulled anterior and posterior ligaments and herniated discs L5 -S1 it's not an intelligent choice. I miss squatting though.

Let's say 40 and up for sure (i'm 45)...but even those in their 30's i guess could answer. I felt great in my 30's still though.

I still feel good at 45, but obviously not like i did in my 20's, haha.

50 and up for sure....
We are the same age. I can still hit 495 for 10+ reps. Far removed when I used to do it for 30+ reps 10 years ago though.

After 3 months (post surgery) of very little gym action this thread inspired me to do front squats. Body weight x20 then just barbell 4x20

My legs are shot out this morning. I knew they would be sore but this is unacceptable.
