've been using softballs with eye hook like in your example.
Naturally, the same weakness exists, here too... you can't put a lot of weight on, it but I have been using it 4 working my rear delts with a moderate amount of my body weight by using a TRX or home gym with straps or even the human machine I believe it's called... My grip has gone up exponentially and it really brings it into play for a burnout at the end of the workout picking up a newspaper from its Center and crushing it up into a ball with only one hand! In no time you'll be able to race through a dozen eggs popping them like they're nothing, a nice way to win some money

makes one wonder and want to rethink all training, if grip strength was at the core, what would a work out look like and what would the results be like

and then projecting up in age, perhaps a true key benefit results in lot's of cool things
