FN Anyone?

I’ve never used their hand guns but a friend of mine has this one and I really like this weapon. One of the complaints about my nightstand weapon is the sights aren’t configured for a can like this one is and it is a pain in the ass.

Why keep a can on a nightstand weapon you ask? Because it seems rude to wake the whole house if you have to deal with an intruder.

Seriously, anyone have any experience with these? Each year I buy myself something that the wife can wrap and the kids can give to me on Christmas and I think I want to put this one in the safe.

Opinions ?

I have not fired an FN but I work with a few guys that have them & cant say enough good things about them. Everything I read on them states they are very ruputable & quality driven! I wouldn’t be afraid to give them a try.

My old boss bought the same pistol without the threaded barrel. I shot it and liked it but the square back strap did not fit my hand at all. I changed it out and could not find one I liked. Other than that a fine pistol.

BUT..............why not get the five-seven. Less felt recoil than a .45 by a HUGE margin. Can defeat body armor. yep goes through pistol rated body armor. Higher capacity. several oz lighter. thinner for carry if you wish to.

Down sides. small projectile (but going over 2x as fast which should be in plus. HUGE wound channel) EXPENSIVE TO SHOOT! .45 does beat the 5.7 by a bit in energy but not much.

Never shot a 5.7 but it is an awesome round for those with big hands. Mine are just big enough to handle it OK (only at a gun show for me) people with smaller hands have trouble reaching the trigger as the grip is long and less wide than .45.

Check it out, it is a beast!

I’ll look into it. One reason for the caliber is that I already own 45 weapons and have ammunition on hand. It would make that easier. The weapon felt fine to me, but I have big hands. I didn’t mind the size as i can carry a full frame and still get by concealed. I carry my sig 1911 as my church weapon when I am at home. Seems like a good place to dress up....

I have a sig 1911 too. great shooter. I do not carry it. I am not a big fella and anything bigger than a compact single stack prints on me.

I love .45 and have a couple of .45 shooters but have kinda gone 9mm. This 5.7 is an amazing round.

I have one. If you plan to suppress it then get it other than that there are plenty of cheaper .45s that shoot better.

Yeah I will probably make it quieter. I got a few 45's as well. I don't need it but I have to tel the wife something to get me so I might as well add to the collection.

It is fairly quiet suppressed. Especially when shooting 230 grain rounds.

I'd take anything in a 9mm right now. Like an idiot I left my Browning Hi Power 9mm in my truck and it was stolen. Very sad cuz it had sentimental value, my father passed it down to me which is sacred in my book. He also gave me a WW2 issued M1911 .45 with U.S. Army stamped on it. Not exactly rare but that is an added cool factor for me since he served in the Army during WW2.

That is too bad. I do not own a hipower but they are some of the softest shooting 9mm pistols out there. Colt M1911s are cool too.

Lots of good lower cost 9mm pistols out there. I have one of these. It is a clone of the CZ75 in poly. I have the real deal as well and this one shoots pretty much the same. Oddly my 75/SP01 mags fit the B6P but not vice versa.
