Why leg curls SUCK!

Leg Curls and extensions are crap movements that will have little carryover to rel world activities. Not sure why anyone thinks a leg curl does anything next to a stiff-leg deadlift, a good-morning, a glute/ham raise, or even a pull-through. Here is what happens when you do a leg curl:

There are SEVEN separate distinct muscles that make up the hamstring complex. Leg curls work 3 or 4 of the SMALLEST muscles in the hams. It may "feel" like you are doing a lot of work, and you may indeed be, but you are doing a lot of work for the LITTLE muscles. A stiff leg deadlift or good-morning works 5 of the BIGGEST muscles in the hams. What do you want? Big strong hams, or little weak ones?

Leg curls, like leg extensions, have their place in leg workouts...at the end to really fry those last remaining fibers. Other than that I don't do them.

SLD's and Pull-throughs are the bomb for hams....never really done pull-throughs until a few months ago and have simply liked them from the get go.

What if you have bad knees and can't do full squats?

Do SLDL's good mornings, and pull-throughs.

My best hamstring growth ever came from glute-ham raises, i'm almost cried when my gym sold it off . Next to that for me are dumbbell SLDL's and pull-throughs. I've recently starting doing snatch grip deadlifts from a 4" box on leg day as my main movement, not only do these destroy your quads but your glutes and hams get annihilated, i couldn't believe the hamstring soreness i had the next day.
