Exogenous Ketones

I'm doing research on this & basically opinions/results are all over the place.

My goal would be to optimize fat loss, improve general well being & hopefully increase strength & add some muscle mass.

What I would like to be able to do is have a carb day or maybe eat some bad carbs once every two weeks or once a month while not breaking ketosis or at least shortening the adaptation phase. I'm going on almost 2 months with no tortillas, do y'all know how hard that is for a Mexican? Lol

From what I've found, some people think exogenous ketones do nothing & it's just a way to capitalize on the increase in popularity of low carb diets. From my own findings lots of the products are crap & just have the word keto on the label to capitalize.

However there are some who have seen the benefits & swear by them. The other debate is what's the best way to take them.

If anyone on here has taken them, I would appreciate your opinions & advice.

If any of the sponsors on here carry them & or know which products are legit & have feedback from the product, I'd also appreciate your advice & opinions.

I'd be ordering a ketone meter as well to try to make everything as efficient as possible.

I will say thisC I think some people think they can eat like shit for days/weeks & take exogenous ketones to stay I ketosis lol I know it doesn't work that way.

I use them when doing keto and they work for me. Helps me get back into ketosis after a cheat (which I try not to do) also I do think the combo of EK and MCT oil makes a big diff in fat loss. Also EK does HELP prevent gluconeogenesis if you eat a little too much protein but is not a cure all. Too much protein is probably the biggest reason why people are knocked out of ketosis, not consuming carbs.

anyway, i checked our sponsor sites and did not find them on there so I bought some off amazon. unflavored and taste horrible but works.

I think a lot of folk take them even when eating carbs thinking it will help. it does not in that case. just start slow with the EK and MCT as otherwise it can cause a chocolate butt volcano if you do too much. very uncomfortable, although some people do great with them.

MCT & EK for fat loss is exactly what I want to do. Almost like a preworkout or if I know I'm going to do something where I need the extra boost/endurance.

Do you take them daily or how do you go about it?

I take EK preworkout with MCT about 30-45 minutes before.

I use MCT sometimes in my coffee in the morns to up my fat intake. I do not take EK on days I do not train. But I do take them if I had a bit too much protein to try to stay in ketosis. it will supercharge fat loss at probably 30-40% higher fat burning as long as you are truly in ketosis

also take EK and MCT when I fast for a day. (i know, MCT oil is not fasting but I eat no solid food. if you try this start slow or it will go right through you)
